About Valentin

Driven by a profound passion for old-school opera singing, he has dedicated years to studying the great singers of the past. By analyzing archival footage, historic audio recordings, and texts from legendary singing teachers, Valentin has gained invaluable insights into the techniques and artistry of the golden age of opera. His commitment to preserving and understanding the old-school theatrical style has also led him to learn directly from singers who were taught by the masters of the past.

Valentin’s teaching is rooted in a deep understanding of biomechanics, anatomy, and the functional aspects of vocal production. This expertise is complemented by his extensive experience in the Alexander Technique, Mental Training, and Qigong, allowing him to address both the physical and psychological aspects of singing.

As a teacher, Valentin works with a wide range of students, from aspiring singers to established professionals. Many of his students perform on the stages of some of the world’s most prestigious opera houses such as Metropolitan Opera, Staatsoper Wien, Komische Oper Berlin, Salzburger Festspiele, Aix en Provence, Staatstheater Nürnberg and many more.
